Timeline of impedance therapy
2018
Impedance therapy at the
London World Congress
Impedance therapy was a unique method presented at the worldwide London Congress. The medical authorities and experts believe that it is impossible for a damaged intervertebral disc to regenerate. However, the results of impedance therapy have proved otherwise. The main opponents to our method were Professors Walther Bini and Wagih El Mashri, who subsequently supported the method and expressed their interest in a collaboration.
2016 – 2018
Completion of the clinical study
The effects of impedance therapy were verified by a randomised clinical study. The objective was to determine the effects of innovative IT as drug-less, non-invasive therapy for degenerative spinal disease, as evidenced by the MRI findings on the spine, neurological examinations and the subjective feelings of the patient before/after the procedure.
2011 – 2015
Project with Všeobecná zdravotná poisťovňa (health insurance company)
The pilot project with the largest health insurance company lasted 5 years and affected about 18,000 patients. Based on data from the insurance company, we can say that the health care offered during the project was about 50% cheaper than the standard health care.
2012
Ethics Committee’s approval of the biomedical clinical study
The biomedical clinical study gained the approval of the Ethics Committee in 2012, following the development of a methodical process for its implementation in collaboration with the Pharmaceutical Faculty of Comenius University in Bratislava, under the leadership of Professor PharmDr. Ján Kyselovič, CSc. The process complied with the requirements of the Helsinki Declaration (2000).
2009
Investigation of the structural changes to the spine
The SEI impulse is created in a generator, which is the main instrument used in the application of impedance therapy. We have devoted 10 years to the unit’s applications. We studied a population of more than 1000 patients, in which we observed positive effects.
Since 2000
Application of SEI
The SEI impulse is created in a generator, which is the main instrument used in the application of impedance therapy. We have devoted 10 years to the unit’s applications. We studied a population of more than 1000 patients, in which we observed positive effects.
1996
Basics of impedance therapy
The foundations of IT were laid in 1996. Based on research observations, we established a hypothesis that we could influence the healing process based on the effects of a specific electric impulse – SEI.
1970
Degenerative cascade
The cascade of changes that occur in the intervertebral disc (ID) was first described by the English scientist William Kirkaldy-Willis in 1970.
